Rachael Carnes

Playwright Rachael Carnes had more than 50 productions in 2019, across the U.S., U.K., Canada and Asia, with recent invitations to the Inge Theatre Festival, the Midwestern Dramatists Center and Mid-American Theater Conferences, the American Association for Theatre in Higher Education New Play Development Series, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Kennedy Center, the Ivoryton Playhouse Women Playwrights Initiative, the Parson’s Nose Theatre’s Women Playwright Series and the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival. Rachael is a 2020 recipient of the Oregon Literary Fellowship and her work is seen in many literary journals. She’s a semi-finalist for the 2019 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award and PlayMakers Repertory’s 2020 International Thomas Wolfe Playwriting Award. Rachael is the founder and editor of CodeRedPlaywrights, a consortium of writers across the country, responding to gun violence.
